General File Submission Guidelines:

Ads up to 2MB in size can be submitted via email to your ANEW account executive. If you're unsure who your account executive is, please email the ad to our production manager at adlayout. An FTP site is also available for ads over 2MB in size. Please contact the production manager for details.

The resolution of all images must be at least 300* dpi (dots per inch).

All images, logos and colors must be CMYK. NO SPOT COLORS! To ensure rich black, make sure the CMYK values are . We have the following software versions: Photoshop v.6, Illustrator v.9, Quark Express v.4.11. We can use the following document types: TIFF, PDF***, EPS, Photoshop, Illustrator**, and Quark Express.

If the documents sent are not any of the above types and we must convert them, we cannot be responsible for their print quality. All fonts must have both screen and print versions, and be useable on a Mac. No PC True Type fonts. Please allow a 1/4" bleed on four sides for full page ads. Please build your ads to the required size as indicated.

* Do not resave a 72 dpi image at 300 dpi, as the quality will not improve; the original image must be of good  quality.
** Unless you are sending along the fonts with the Illustrator file, all type needs to be converted to outlines.
*** If you are sending a PDF, be sure that none of the ad components contain any RGB, any spot colors, or JPEG files. In general, all of the pieces that go into making a PDF should also adhere to the above guidelines.  We cannot make changes to PDFs - any changes must be made by the creator in the original files used to make the PDF.

Warning:  Low-Resolution Images Donπt Print Well!  Many images,
particularly 72 dpi jpegs taken off the Internet, look jagged and blurry when printed using crisp, professional lithography on glossy stock.  For best results, we recommend that your images be at least 300 dpi.  Caution:  Itπs Best If You Convert Your Images From RGB to CMYK, because you will have more control over the appearance of your printed piece if you convert all of the images from RGB to CMYK before sending them to us. When we receive RGB images, we do a standard-value conversion to CMYK, which may not be to your liking. You can use popular programs such as Adobe Photoshop or Photo Deluxe to perform the conversions.  Please take the time to prepare your files properly. We cannot be responsible for less than ideal results if you furnish low-resolution or RGB images.
